TECH KNOW LIONS
Our Robotics Team provides a fun and hands-on opportunity for students in grades 5-8 to explore all four areas of STEM. This team also encourages teamwork, problem solving and leadership!
What is the Robotics Team?
* Teams of 3-5 students build a VEX IQ robot from kits, with guidance from coaches.
* Robots are designed and built to play a game (such as throwing a ball through a hoop) and then compete against robots from other schools.
* A partcipation fee is charged.
* As students' skills increase, they have the opportunity to learn coding to program their robots, rather than using a controller to operate the robot.
* The flexibility of the VEX IQ program allows students of all skill levels to be successful and enables those who want to take on more sophisticated challenges.
Winners of VEX competitions are eligible to advance to state, national and world VEX IQ competitions.
