Readiness & Writing: The Handwriting without Tears (HWT) program is used. HWT uses music, movement, and multisensory manipulatives to teach all core essential readiness skills, including crayon grip, letter & number recognition, letter & number formation, and body awareness.
Language & Literacy: We use dramatic play, singing, fingerplays, manupulatives, and movement to teach children early reading and writing skills such as rhyming. We expose children to rich literature to foster a love of reading, build vocabulary, and learn how books work.
Numbers & Math: We use music, rhymes, manipulatives and blocks to teach counting, comparisons, spatial awareness, patterning, sequencing, matching, sorting, problem solving, and even geometry skills. Lessons and centers time gives children time to play with real objects and test their ideas so that math becomes real and meaningful.
Religion: We incorporate teachable moments, stories, prayer, and experiences throughout the day to learn about our faith.
