It is hard to believe we are talking about snow days, but the topic has come up in the news lately and so I would like to clarify what we will be doing should a snow day become necessary.
As always, we will follow the decision of the Berlin Schools regarding delays or cancellation of school due to weather conditions. Announcements will be made on television (NBC, CBS and FOX 61) by both Berlin and Saint Paul School. As in the past, you will also receive a text and/or phone message with the closing or delay information. A delayed opening will always be for 2 hours.
You may also have heard that, because we now have the capacity for remote learning, we will be able to provide students with instruction on snow days, and we will not be required to make up the days in the spring! Remote learning schedules are now being finalized and specific instructions will be provided to you by your child's teacher via the teacher web page or email.
We understand that snow days do sometimes present logistical problems for parents in terms of daycare and child supervision. Please be assured that your children will not be penalized if they are unable to "attend" remote learning classes on snow days.
