Saint Paul School is excited to offer a new Fine Arts program in middle school. Classes are a mix of 6-8 grade students. The program has many benefits as we can expand the program to include Theater, allows teachers double the time to work on projects with their groups, and gives the students the experience of what high school Fine Arts programs look like. The program will also help students build confidence, improve their creativity, visual learning, build new friendships, collaboration, allow decision making and more!
The following classes students will take turns taking over three trimesters. We are thrilled to have started the classes and the students and teachers are really enjoying it!
MUSIC with Mrs. Comeau: This course will explore different genres of music throughout history, focus on contemporary pop music, and will have a heavy choral component. It’s a great class for those who like to sing or want to improve their singing voice. Requests to learn to sing approved songs will be encouraged!
ART with Mrs. Lindsey: Art class will be project oriented and involve a wide range of materials, techniques, and art forms. You’ll explore famous artists and learn their techniques, then be able to create your own unique masterpieces.
THEATER with Miss Thibdeau: After briefly learning about theater in different countries, students will dive into such topics as acting, improvisation, character development, lighting, sound, sets & props, and everything that goes into making a performance come together. This class is not associated with the after-school drama club.
