Happily Ever After Reading: Happily Ever After builds a foundation by anchoring instruction in classic stories from children's literature. Children listen to a well-known story in the first lesson of each unit and return to it again and again as they move through the other lessons in the unit. In addition, new vocabulary, skills, and concepts are introduced in a concrete way through a game that relates them directly to the familiar, physical world. In this way, instruction always proceeds from the concrete to the abstract.
Happily Ever After builds children’s ability to follow directions by teaching the necessary skills systematically and explicitly and giving children the opportunity to apply the skills in every lesson.
Readiness & Writing: We use the Handwriting without Tears program. HWT uses music, movement, and multisensory manipulatives to teach all core essential readiness skills, including crayon grip, letter & number recognition, letter & number formation, and body awareness.
Numbers & Math: We use music, rhymes, and manipulatives to teach counting, comparisons, spatial awareness, patterning, sequencing, matching, sorting, problem solving, and even geometry skills. Lessons give children time to play with real objects and test their ideas so that math becomes real and meaningful.
Religion: We incorporateteachable moments, stories, prayer and experiences throughout our day to teach our Faith. We also use the "I Am Special" Religion Program. It is age-appropriate for the preschool learner.
