Classroom Rules

1. Be kind and respectful to others
2. Work hard and try your best
3. Be honest
4. Come prepared to each and every class
5. Do not distract others in class or talk out of turn.

Failure to follow the above rules will result in 
- a warning for the first offense 
- lunch detention for second offense 
- a parent phone call if the behavior continues. 

Daily Materials
Please be sure to come to each class with the following, unless you are told you do not need it for the day:

• Textbook
• Notebook
• Homework/Homework Notebook
• Binder
• Pencil
• Calculator

Absence Policy
Students will be given a maximum of 3 class days to make up any missed assignments due to absence. Extensive absences will be handled on a case by case basis. 
 
Homework
In order to receive credit for late homework (except for assignments missed due to illness or other excused absence), the student MUST come after school on Monday with the late assignments completed and go over them with me to ensure mastery and understanding.

If an assignment is late due to illness or other excused absence, the student has up to 3 days to hand in the assignment for credit, but is still encouraged to go over his/her work with the teacher to ensure mastery of skills.
 
Grading
Your grade will be broken down as follows:

• Participation: 5%
• Homework/classwork 25%
• Assessments: 70%
  • Quizzes: 30%
  • Tests 40%

 Note: Math/Science STEM Lab grades will be entered into the gradebook under the "Classwork/Homework".
 
After School Hours
This year, my after school help day will be Tuesday or Thursday, by appointment. After school help runs from 3:00 until 4:00.
 
I am also avaiable every morning before school from 7:15 to 7:50.
