, is seeking a qualified and experienced educational leader for the position of Principal beginning July 1, 2021.
St. Paul
School
opened in 1958 and has a current enrollment of 235 students with 36 full and part-time staff members. While being a parish school it serves the larger local community and enjoys of diverse community of learners from thirteen area cities and towns. The school is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The principal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school, including: curriculum, instruction, assessment, behavior, and safety of students. The principal shall maintain a collaborative atmosphere with and between the faculty and staff to promote high quality academic and faith-formation programs. policies, being a good steward of financial and material resources, ensuring a seamless curriculum throughout the school, helping strengthen the reputation of
St. Paul
School
, and cooperating with fund-raising and enrollment management efforts. The principal reports directly to the Pastor and is responsible for the implementation of the mission statement of the school.
In that the parish is in the pastoral care of the Conventual Franciscan Friars it will be important for the principal to learn about and help imbue in the school community the Franciscan culture of the parish.
The candidate will be a practicing Catholic who is in good standing with the Church and knowledgeable and supportive of the mission and philosophy of Catholic Schools and involved in the life of the parish when possible. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an educational field and has at least three years of experience in teaching. Experience as a principal or assistant principal and current certification in school administration is preferred.
The candidate will have demonstrated success in teaching; a working knowledge of school finance and budgeting; a high level of interpersonal, collaborative, organizational, and administrative skills with the ability to think strategically, implement policies, directives, and initiatives; excellent communication skills (written and verbal); and commitment to the education of the whole child (mind, body, and spirit). The candidate needs to be able to work cooperatively with the Pastor, School Board (Consultative), faculty/staff, Archdiocesan officials, and the Home & School Association.
