At Saint Paul School, we offer a traditional academic program combined with the development of 21st Century skills in problem solving, communication, and information technology. Our students excel academically on a daily basis. They develop their talents in the arts and in athletics and consistently perform at least two years above grade level across the core academic areas on nationally-normed standardized tests. Our students have been recognized for excellence at the regional and national levels in science and spelling, and this year our teams won both first and second place in the Paleo Knowledge Bowl at the Peabody Museum of Yale University. In the long term, the success of our graduates in high school and beyond is proof of the outstanding level of instruction provided by our faculty and staff.
As proud as we are of our achievements, we are actively addressing the future needs of our students and our community at all grade levels. At the preschool level, we have extended our preschool hours to include full day programs for both three and four year old children. Our four year old group is now included in our
Superkids reading program that extends with consistency through grade two.
Our intermediate grade students will benefit this year from
Reading Wonders, a new program by McGraw Hill reflecting the Common Core State Standards. The program includes updated literature, and allows us to accurately assess each child’s current reading level and provides individualized guided reading instruction.
Perhaps our greatest effort as we move forward is in assuring the unique identity of our Middle School. We continually expand academic options for our students especially in the areas of written language, literature, mathematics, science and technology. We strive to provide each student with the technology needed to access global learning and to develop skills in problem solving, critical thinking and communication.
