Saint Paul School became a dream-come-true for the late Monsignor Thomas L. Greylish when the school was completed in 1958. In October of 1957, the cornerstone of the school was dedicated and the school was placed under the protection of Saint Therese of the Little Flower, for whom Msgr. Greylish had a deep devotion. Monsignor Greylish wanted to provide an alternative to the public system of education for youths who sought a Catholic junior high experience. On September 3, 1958, the school’s doors were opened for the first time, with students enrolled in seventh and eighth grades. Ninth grade was added in 1959 and Saint Paul Junior High School held its first graduation in 1960. In 1976, Saint Paul School discontinued the ninth grade and added a sixth grade. This coincided with the changes in the public school system to create a middle school (grades 6-8). In 1980, a kindergarten and first grade were added which led to establishing a complete kindergarten through eighth grade program.
In June 2003, a building renovation and refurbishment was undertaken to address some of the challenges the school faced: cramped facilities and the need to expand and improve its programs. This $1.3 million renovation was the second phase of the Saint Paul Parish 125th Anniversary Capital Campaign project. The renovation consisted of leveling a non-functioning 2,500 square foot lobby, staircase and offices, and constructing a 6,000 square foot handicapped accessible addition, complete with a functional office suite, media center, technology learning center, science laboratory and art/music suite. The addition to the school was dedicated in November 2004 and again placed under the protection of Saint Therese. A gym refurbishment was completed during the 2004-2005 school year. The gymnasium upgrades included floor replacement, wall padding, window treatments, additional basketball hoops and fresh paint.
In the Summer of 2012 Saint Paul School went through an extensive upgrade of its technology program. SMART Boards were placed in every instructional area, a new mobile computer lab was purchased, and a state of the art computer network was installed.
