God has given me the ultimate gift of going to Holy Mass and Communion every day, so I come to school super-energized and filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit. This is my 20th year of teaching in our St. Paul family, and before that I taught at St. Mary School in Branford for 18 years..
My family lives in Rocky Hill. My beautiful wife is the love of my life. Our daughter, who studied here at Saint Paul for 11 years, is half way through her first year of college in Massachusetts. Our teachers here gave her an outstanding education, and it showed all the way through Mercy High School.
And then there is Jamal, the little bear who spends most of his time in our classroom. He is much loved by our students, but with COVID, he is not allowed to be hugged by our students nor to sit on their desks. So he sits high on his book shelf perch watching the students and dreaming about spring and a return to normal.
I love the outdoors, gardening, landscaping, cutting wood, hiking, and exploring. And lastly, pun intended, I like the Red Sox!
The thing that I most want my students to do is to THINK - deeply, inquiringly, analytically, probingly, honestly. The second most important thing that I want my students to do is to LISTEN better. My main goal in all my subjects is to help my students become closer friends with our Lord Jesus!
May God bless our school family in all that we do this year!
Mr. Grant
